Starting his superyacht career in 1986 as deckhand on M/Y ‘Nabila’, an 86 metre beauty and the largest private yacht in the world at the time, Captain Richard Morris has literally been in the industry since before the term “superyacht” was even coined! He sailed on merchant ships with P&O where he gained his Master Mariner’s Certificate. He met Donna whilst commanding M/V “Matilda III’ on Sydney Harbour where Donna was working as Cruise Director. A few months later they were off to Europe where they spent the next seven years as Captain and Chief Stewardess/Purser, running back-to-back charter seasons on five superyachts. Chartering extensively and continuously throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean for most of the leading charter broker agencies, they served presidents, royal families, celebrities and captains of industry and gained outstanding, in-depth experience into all aspects of yachting. With this under their belts they decided to bring their knowledge back to Australia and start Sydney’s first dedicated superyacht agency. Between them they have been fundamental in establishing the superyacht industry here in Australia.
